Faience tankard with cartouches and silver coin - Saxony 1756
Hand painted faience, silver coin, pewter. Period and style - Baroque. Faience holba of cylindrical shape with upper and lower cobalt lines. Central motif of three painted cartouches sprayed with manganese, separated at the top by yellow glowing leaves. Pewter base and rim. Arched pewter lid decorated with a relief ornament with a spherical thumb rest. Silver coin with portrait of Empress Maria Theresa set in the centre. Engraved initials between the divided year: 17 M. E. M. 56. Saxony, Germany 1756. Height 26 cm.
