Antique: Josef (Joza) Novak - Dancer
Pastel on paper 32.5 x 29 cm. Signed lower right, dated 1945? Frame with mount and glass 42 x 37 cm. Josef (Joza) Novak (18.2.1883 Rychnov nad Kneznou - 16.9.1958 Prague) sculptor. He studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague from 1901 to 1907. From 1907 he studied privately in Paris and then worked with sculptor prof. Albert Lauermann in Detmold, Germany. He exhibited with the Union of Fine Artists and the Artistic Meeting in Prague. Its works are represented in the collections of the National Gallery.
