Jan Josef Stursa (May 15, 1880, Nove Mesto na Morave - May 2, 1925, Prague) was a Czech sculptor, born in Nove Mesto, one of the founders of Czech modern sculpture. The basic material was for him bronze and stone. His teacher and idol J. V. Myslbek was his talent delighted belonged to his best students, but later Myslbeks classic work came into conflict with his own sensitive and freestyle creation.
