Oil on canvas 61 x 48 cm, relined. Unsigned. Unframed. Painting of the Virgin Mary standing with her hands turned palms upwards and her head lowered, slightly inclined towards her right shoulder. In the place of Mary’s heart and womb - aureola. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great in Prague’s Karlov has become a popular and much-visited place of pilgrimage, especially for the painting of Our Lady of Karlov, made in 1697 by the eminent painter Jan Jiri Heinsch. Certificate of the National Heritage Institute. Central Europe 1830 - 1880.
