Antique: Silver Candlestick - Johann Kriebeth, Vienna 1828
Massive polished silver. Fineness Ag 812.5 / 1000. Total weight 575.4 g. From the Biedermeier period, 1828 or 1838. Candlestick decorated with a relief motif of a floral wreath ( ribbon ) with rose flowers - in the upper, middle, lower part and the upper ring. Upper, flat, slightly arched bowl, with a tip for fixing a candle. The middle part of the candlestick consists of a decorative vase, a column with facets, and a ring. The lower part with a triangular, slightly concavely shaped base. Triangular base, with bevelled corners, arcuately shaped. Three round legs, in the middle with an embossed granulation band. Marked: Viennese Austrian loth hallmark with illegible date 1828 or 1838, makers mark ( monogram JK ). Johann Kriebeth, Vienna ( active 1818 - 1845 ). Height 31.5 cm, width 12 cm.
