In the days of May 28 and July 10, 2016 an exhibition entitled ”Haushofer´s Landscape Painting School” held at the Art Gallery Kroupa to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the death of Maximilian Haushofer (1811–1866), a renowned professor of landscape painting at the Academy between 1844 and 1866. His studio nurtured and influenced many students, leading individuals, many of whom have already peaked Czech landscape painting of the 19th century (Adolf Kosarek, Julius Marak, Bedrich Havranek, Adolf Chvala, Hugo Ullik, Antonin Waldhauser and other great painters). The exhibition also emphasized the exceptional role of M. Haushofer in the development of Czech landscape towards modern trends of the 19th century, made of Julia Maraka twenty years ago.
